2023 LEAN NETWORK CONFERENCE · GRAND WAYNE CONVENTION CENTRE, FORT WAYNE, IN
The AIAG-VDA FMEA Seven-Step process represents a positive movement forward for the automotive industry. This session discusses the changes in the AIAG-VDA FMEA and the steps to consider in transitioning from AIAG FMEA 4th edition to AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook 1st edition.
Level: Introductory · Target Audience: All involved in FMEA Development (Quality and Engineering) and Management Team responsible for Digitalization.
The AIAG-VDA FMEA Seven-Step process integrates the US (AIAG) and German (VDA) FMEA methodologies to provide a new and innovative FMEA approach called the AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook, 1st edition. It not only harmonizes the approaches of AIAG and VDA, but represents major innovation in linking the system, sub system, and components in a design with a flow down of requirements and its failures. This approach requires a systemic understanding of how system, sub system, and component failures interrelate the AIAG-VDA FMEA Seven Step approach, including how Structure and Function Analysis can help implement the V Model Engineering Development process, promoted by the new Electric and Autonomous Vehicle standards.
Session Coverage
